Who is Tarja?

I'm a computer gamer who spends far too much time figuring out how to rail just a little bit better or how to stay alive just a little bit longer. I've been playing Quake2 since it came out although I really never buckled down and learned the game... that is... until recently.

Now I spend a lot of time trying to improve my skills and decrease the number of frags I lose by. *hehehe*

Where does the name Tarja come from?

Honestly, I have no clue what the origins of the name are other than Tarja is the name of one of my favorite singers. Tarja sings in a group called Nightwish and I've always sorta wished I could sing like her. Nightwish combines the finer points of melodic metal with a superb operatic vocalist. I find the music to be thought-provoking and highly enjoyable. If you want to take a moment, listen to a clip of one of their songs, Elvenpath. They have more clips available on their site if you dig that one.

So... you're a female...

Perceptive observation. Yes, I'm a female and no, you can't have a picture. I don't get why that's such a common question among male gaming nerds. I love all the nerds but go someplace else for your fantasies. Back to the issue at hand... Some people have a mixed perception of what a female gamer is (see image to the right). While many people play "computer games" such as Solitaire and PacMan (which is a pretty cool game if you ask me), I prefer to walk on the wild side... where the gibs are red and the frags keep you coming back for more! I know, we females aren't "supposed" to enjoy the blood and gore that is so prevelant in these computer games. Truth be told, I don't think there are many females out there who wouldn't fall in love with Quake after playing it for a bit. :-)

Is that all you have to say for yourself?

Uh... pretty much. I suppose if you have any questions you can email me. :-)
